Then, I began playing around with Photoshop, importing the file and then using a Youtube tutorial to begin working on creating the actual video. I watched the 15 minute tutorial, stopping as I achieved each step. This took me upwards of about an hour, as I kept making mistakes or getting confused along the day. What I've learned/Notes: This week in class we went over critiques of a couple assignments (Mini 4b...

B'log' post February 28th, 2026

Just some of the many things I have learned over the last week! Firstly, you need to always submit the LINK to the folder in the submission space for all assignments, as well as in your portfolio to keep them safe. When you are working with text on a slide, you want any pictures of people you use to be FACING the text; otherwise it looks weird. Because a person's eyes will follow where the person in the picture is looking. Sans-serif means text without the extra embellishments, serif is with...

B'log' Post February 22nd, 2026

You can make reflections in photoshop! Duplicate only the subject, flip it to where the base is touching the original. Make sure this is on a new layer. Change the layer opacity to 60%ish, then add motion blur and make the distance about 30, which creates a really cool ripple effect! I did this to the subject (myself), and the words I added as well. Water reflections are difficult, but doable. You can also add a blur over the subject to make it sorta look like you're supposed to be in the...

B'log' Post February 15th, 2026

This week, gosh I have learned so much. I have slowly become less scared of photoshop, premiere pro, audacity, etc. and have been more willing to just play with all these programs. It is very important to go into any project, but especially just in general to go in without high stakes or expectations of yourself and JUST be willing to PLAY. Saving everything as a .psd will save you a lot of headaches in the long-run, and never forgot what Dr. B says- ALWAYS have a drive for everything you...

B"log" Post- February 10th, 2026

Wow, I have learned so much with Photoshop in just these few short weeks in class! With the help of classmates and my best friend, I definitely feel more confident (not where I would like to be, but I am definitely 'getting there'). 1. The healing brush is magical. You can remove blemishes, or even just fix something in the background you don't like (band aid icons, and there are a few to choose from). 2. There is a move tool to move different objects around. 3. Layers are EVERYTHING. If...
