Log:
I filmed my Cinemagraph on Saturday, which took me about 5 minutes. Then, I began playing around with Photoshop, importing the file and then using a Youtube tutorial to begin working on creating the actual video. I watched the 15 minute tutorial, stopping as I achieved each step. This took me upwards of about an hour, as I kept making mistakes or getting confused along the day.
I also worked on my mini 4c project, which was the multisource sound assignment. This project probably took me roughly 45 minutes to complete. I recorded a bunch of sounds from household members, then layered them and messed with the volume of each one in Audacity.
This was also the week I worked my short video! This was really fun to have the opportunity to play around with Premier Pro. This was done by recording a short video of me having a conversation with another household member, then editing text over it. This took me roughly 45 minutes.
What I've learned/Notes:
This week in class we went over critiques of a couple assignments (Mini 4b sound loop, and animation: your choice). I learned a valuable lesson of making sure you listen to an audio before you send it off to its designated place, and don't leave anything extra in the recording. For the animation your choice assignment I had the critique of adding a sun to play into the shadows already existing on the flower, and to loop the animation.
We also began working on our video project, where we are to create a video tutorial, each person in our group interpreting it differently. We learned valuable vocabulary to follow as we work on the project. A master shot means you can see all of the area you are working in at the same time. When you 'cut away' from a scene, you are tricking the audience into believing that two or more scenes are happening at the same time, just different locations. We try hard to avoid jump cuts, although they can be useful when creating a comedic affect. When you're shooting a video, it is much better to create a script and shot list, as to avoid frustration.
